Summary
The 360° Kona Clean Grill Brush does deserve its name because it really cleans a grill in all directions. This brush is well-made, easy to use and works very well even in hard to reach areas of your grill. It has a heavy duty construction and larger than most other brushes. It works especially well if you dip it in some water and heat your grill a little.
Then when you clean it the steam helps you make an even easier job of it. It is safe for a variety of grill types including porcelain. All you will need is a few good passes over your grill and the Kona 360° will ensure that it is clean and looks as good as new.
There are some issues with this brush losing some of its strength after a few months. It may start losing bristles and these bristles can stick to your grill (especially if you have a cast iron one). Some of the assembly is not stainless steel and will rust if you let the elements abuse it.
The connection of the plastic handle to the metal assembly can weaken over time and this is where it will break. It is not really the best choice for infrared grills. The brushes are a little too wide to get into the channels of an infrared type grill.
Comparison
This Kona 360 clean grill brush is a good choice and a significant improvement from using scouring pads, sponges or your hands when the rage over a dirty grill boils over. The brush gets in-between the grate and does not only clean the surface, but corners and hard to reach nooks. It has a longer handle can clean between multiple grates at the same time with the 3-in-1 design.
The bristles are stainless steel, but not the entire assembly, so you should take good care of it or look at something that is entirely made of stainless steel (especially if you live near the coast where corrosion is even more of an issue).
The handle construction does not compare well to other brushes (but the brush itself works well). The angle of the handle construction weakens the point where the metal and plastic handle meet and the wrong type of pressure can cause it to break here, but if it suits your style of use the brush will work very well. It is a good solid brush, with some of them showing their Achilles’ heel at the handle.
All in all this brush compares very well to most other brushes, it has a large area and a good solid steel construction and the stainless steel bristles wont rust. The rounded edges of the brush sections makes cleaning between grill grates much easier.
Verdict
The Kona 360° Clean Grill stainless steel brush is a large, lightweight brush. It is advertised for all types of grills, but it is most at home with cast iron, stainless steel or porcelain grills. Especially where you have grates that need a little cleaning in-between. It is not the best choice for infrared type grills.
It has a good solid construction and should not rust if you don’t leave it out in the rain for months on end. It works especially well if you combine its bristles with some steam cleaning power by dipping it before use and heating the grill a little when you clean it. The Kona 360° Clean Grill stainless steel brush is one of the best of these types of grill brushes and will make cleaning your grill much easier.
